China Here We Come!

9 volunteers from UK universities are about to set off to China tomorrow afternoon. They are divided into 2 groups in order to work at 2 schools, both in Guangdong Province, Southern China.

They will be teaching English to Chinese children between 15th and 24th July. The children’s ages are from 6 to 13. Most of them have learned some basic English before, but lack of practice. Our mission is to provide the children a real language environment and stimulate their interest of learning English for the future. Each voluntary teacher will have their own class for the whole period.

The volunteers have been preparing seriously for their teaching in the last couple of weeks. Now they are all well-equipped with lots of English songs, films, games, postcards, photos, book etc. They are going to teach about the culture as well as the language.

We wish them a smooth flight and a journey of excitements and enlightenment!
